Developing coaches and improving performance
As Head Trainer at Basic-Fit Namur Centre, I managed a stable coaching team of up to four coaches and acted as the operational link between club management, coaches and members.
My responsibilities included recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, professional development, performance evaluation, sales activity and KPI monitoring.
Development was organised as a recurring process rather than a one-off training intervention.

Building a fitness operation from scratch
In 2009, I launched Les Sens du Tao Fitness, an independent fitness centre in Dour, Belgium.
The challenge was not simply to deliver training: it was to create the complete service environment around it — positioning, membership offer, staffing, schedules, equipment, group fitness, customer experience, marketing, sales and daily operations.
I recruited and coordinated three instructors, one employee, one student assistant and a nutritionist providing weekly consultations.

Case Study 03 · Product & Systems
From service architecture to training architecture
BodyMetrics and the 1% Method represent two different sides of the same work: structuring how coaching is delivered, and structuring the training product itself.

BodyMetrics
Designing the coaching operating system
BodyMetrics was developed to connect the different stages of the coaching journey with the appropriate actions, assessment tools, professional resources and decision-support systems.
- Client assessment and baseline evaluation
- Programme design and workout delivery
- Exercise selection and professional resources
- Nutrition and energy-support tools
- Follow-up and progression frameworks
The 1% Method
Designing the training system
The 1% Method evolved from years of searching for a more structured way to organise coaching sessions. It formalises training around a fixed seven-block architecture and progressive three-week cycles.
- Three guided sessions per week of approximately 35 minutes
- Fixed session architecture
- Progressive training cycles
- Adaptable training environments
- Designed for consistent coaching and progression
Delivery Experience
Group Fitness & Exercise to Music
Group exercise was a major part of my professional work from 2009 to 2022, alongside personal training, club operations and coach development.

More than 2,500 group fitness classes delivered
Experience across RPM, BodyPump, GRIT, TRX and other structured formats, working with different club environments and member profiles.
Exercise Experience
Working with movement, music and intensity
Beyond delivering established programmes, I have also created original class choreography across suspension training, cycling and strength-based formats.
This involved BPM, musical phrasing, movement selection, transitions and intensity progression — using the relationship between movement and music to create flow and memorable fitness experiences.
Teaching & Training
Making complex knowledge usable
Alongside my fitness career, I have worked as a vocational teacher in automotive mechanics in Belgium.
Teaching technical subjects strengthened my ability to break complex systems into understandable steps, adapt explanations to different learner profiles, connect theory with practical application and evaluate whether knowledge can actually be applied.
I hold the Belgian Certificate of Teaching Aptitude (CAP), certifying pedagogical competence for vocational and secondary education.
Published Expertise
Conseils de Coachs — Éditions Vigot, 2023
Co-author of a practical fitness and nutrition book published by Éditions Vigot. The project required transforming professional knowledge into clear, structured and accessible guidance — the same approach I apply when creating training resources, coaching systems and fitness products.
